In a game all about living a life that’s better than yours, you wouldn’t think this kind of thing would be a problem: and yet, here we are.  Apparently, there will not be toddlers or pools in Sims 4… and it’s pissing people off.

That pretty much sums everything up.  In the latest installment of the sims series, some content is going to be cut—and of that cut content, the ‘toddler’ stage of life and pools (which is both a popular recreational tool and suicide device by the sims) are being removed. Here’s what EA has to say about the removal:

And while we recognize that some of you will be disappointed that pools and toddlers won't be available when The Sims 4Base Game launches in September, you should know that we're building an incredibly strong foundation that is capable of fulfilling every one of your desires in the years to come.

So it’s not that there won’t be pools or toddlers: it’s that there will be, but they’ll probably be paid DLC.  Which is kind of what they did for Sims 3 and it worked great for them that time, so why bother changing the formula?

Now, this is annoying news at best, if it were up to me.  By itself probably not worth writing about.  No, what compels me to report on this is the surprisingly intense reaction of vehement fans of those two particular features following the announcement.  Apparently.  There has been people saying there’s literally no point in buying the game anymore, people throwing fits… it’s rather insane, so I guess I’m just a bad judge of how important these things are to some people.   So I figured I’d err on the side of caution and report this anyway, in case some of ya’ll needed the time to re-evaluate your life choices.
