Fighting tournaments are flourishing widely throughout the world, there's no doubt about that. Furthermore, there are a ton of games that are great tournament fodder, including Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel. XSEED Games announced today that it has been invited to throw Nitroplus Blasterz into the fray at the Level Up Wednesday Night Fighter Tournament Season, which begins February 17 (today, in other words) at the Level Up eSports Arena in Southern California.

Casual play will begin at 7:00 PM PST.

If you want to know more about Nitroplus Blasterz, which scored an average of 69 on Metacritic (it was brought down heavily by a couple of 40 scores, but most are mixed to positive reviews), is a fighting title that throws in six characters on-screen at a time with heroines from Nitroplus' visual novel IPs. Playable characters include Ein, Mora, Ruili, Al Azif, Saya, Ignis, Anna, Muramasa the 3rd, Kibanohara Ethica, Saber, Ouka, and Super Sonico. Nitroplus Blasterz also throws in a unique mechanic, the "Blast" system, which provides players with one of three options per round: distancing from the opponent, breaking a combo, and extending combos.

Nitroplus Blasterz also offers full cross-play compatibility between PS4 and PS3 users, and is available exclusively for both systems. The PS4 version is priced at $39.99, while the PS3 version is $29.99. Europeans can expect this title April 7. For those curious about the gameplay, look no further than this video below:

Forewarning, it's 43 minutes long, but hopefully this will help with any decision making.
