Nintendo to Release a Breath of the Wild 5-Disc Soundtrack

Only in Japan, that is.

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of both the Nintendo Switch and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Nintendo has announced a five-disc, limited-edition soundtrack containing hundreds of tracks used in the game. Too bad it's only in Japan.

Players could already listen to an official soundtrack for the game if they ordered the Master and Special editions, which came with a Sound Selections CD. This disc set is an expansion of that, containing Manaka Kataokas 211 music tracks heard in-game, as well as the music in the DLC packs, and launch trailers.

The standard disc set will be available April 25, 2018 in Japan, for ¥ 5,000 ($47). There will also be a limited edition option, which is a promotional button with a built-in music player. The music player will have 15 tracks preloaded onto it.

Breath of the Wild has impressed audiences and critics alike. The expansive world and exciting gameplay are paired perfectly with an equally impressive soundtrack. I'm tempted to track one of these disc-sets down for myself. But if the NES classic is any indication, I won't be quick enough.
