The Bitter Taste of Nintendo
Remember back in Super Nintendo days when we would all blow into it to remove dust particles from the contacts? It was horrible for the cartridge, because it introduced moisture, but it worked.
Well, those days were innocent. It seems kids these days are taking it a step above that and actually putting cartridges in their mouths...
Gross.
To prevent nasty children with neglectful parents from doing just that, they've coated cartridges with a bitter material. The few people that have already tried it claim they taste it a long time after the fact.
In fact, Nintendo is being serious about this. They have officially announced that they hope parents keep these things away from children.
Guess this means to say "either you educate your kids, or we will, with bittering agents."
The Waste of Space & Plastic
Nintendo is up on a high horse these days. But let's consider something else about those tiny cartridges: they come packaged in cases that are slightly longer than a Vita case. And the actual cartridges are the tiniest to date. Talk about wasting space!
Boxes don't even include any instruction booklets, registration card, or anything else that might take up space. It's literally just the cartridges.
When are the environmentally friend players going to pipe up? It's a matter of time, right? Right?
