It seems as though the Nintendo Switch has some abandonment issues. After the release of some tweets and people sharing their stories, it looks like the Nintendo Switch takes notice of when you haven't been around. When nobody has played your Switch in a week, your smart device will get a message sent from the Switch's parental controls. It basically says, have you played your Switch recently? You can connect your Switch to the internet to see your play records.
I think the best part about this is the fact that the message comes from the parental controls. The exact same application that allows you to limit play time is also the one saying "hey, where the heck are you?" I'm not one to judge, but the parental controls really needs to make up its mind here.
Keep in mind this is after a week without playing. Who knows what it will be like after a month or six months. Maybe once you hit the one year mark the parental controls will send you a selfie from the beach saying "gotchu off my mind" with a Bahama Mama.
Moral of the story here is don't ignore your Switch. You bought it for a reason and it expects to be loved and cherished. I honestly can't wait to see what else happens when players do different things. Maybe if you sell your Switch on Craigslist you'll get a little message saying "you can't get rid of me that easily."
