More Nintendo Switch news! Though we have already stated there won't be news regarding the library or the pricing until 2017, we still have some bits and pieces to share.
One piece of recent news happens to be a major bummer, albeit predictable. Japanese magazine Famitsu queried Nintendo about whether or not the Switch would be physically backwards compatible with the 3DS and/or the Wii U. Well, besides the fact that the unit doesn't contain an optical drive, it won't be able to play 3DS cartridges. That being said, we might see the games being emulated.
Famitsu also asked what would be in the box, and Nintendo revealed that every unit's box would contain a console, the Joy Con, detachable controllers, and a dock.
And as for battery life? Well, Nintendo has only claimed that the system would allow people to play comfortably away from an outlet.
So none of this is exactly surprising, but still a bit of a letdown. So mayhaps a fresh handheld that will support the 3DS will be on its way... eventually.
