Nintendo Power Archived for the World to See

That's a lot of gaming history!

Nintendo Power, the Nintendo-themed gaming magazine which ran for twenty-fivers years, came to a rather heartbreaking end after the 285th issue, because, well... let's face it, with the way Nintendo is operating now, an entire magazine dedicated to it simply can't make ends. Still, it was a powerful institution within the gaming world, and a keystone of Nintendo fandom, and it was sad to see it go, especially for long-time fans.

Well, it's not coming back, but there's still some good news for nostalgic fans of the magazine: Archive.org, the online... well, it's right in the title... has started collecting issues of the old magazine and storing them for the world to see, allowing you to read the first 145 issues within the magazines 285-issue run.

Useful game reviews and strategies for your old N64? Sure, I suppose, but really, this collection is mostly for old fans and people interested in gaming history to peruse and enjoy whats left of a bygone era. Heck, my first issue of Nintendo Power, 140, is in the archive, and looking it over again has been a real trip. Worth a look, if you were born late enough to be a part of this!

So yeah. That's cool.
