Nintendo is ready to shell out some serious cash to hackers that are willing to help them strengthen Switch security. A short while ago I did an article about the emulation for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild that was being funded. Naturally, Nintendo does not like it when people take the liberty of emulating their games and posting them online for free.
Nintendo is now paying people anywhere from $100 to $20,000 if you can hack their console and find holes in their security system. They want the Switch to be airtight and do not want people to get access to all of their precious titles for free. I'm not much of hacker myself, but making $20,000 from Nintendo by breaking into their system sounds like a pretty sweet deal.
Keep in mind that this is not uncommon when new things get released. People want to make sure that their creations are as safe and secure as possible. All the developers have to do is tell the hackers to try their best and if they do a good job then they can make $20,000. Before you know it, you lose a ton of money and your system is finally ready to fight off hackers. Best of luck to both Nintendo and the white-hat hackers out there helping the company out.
