It’s finally happened.  Fans begged, Nintendo teased, hints were dropped and teases were abundant, but now it’s finally over.  We have our answer, and that answer is a resounding yes: Nintendo is going to remake Majora’s Mask for the 3DS, giving it the exact same 3Ds treatment it gave Ocarina of Time received.

It’ll release sometime next spring.  Check out the trailer.

Now, when I say it’s been teased, I mean it.  A real Nintendo fanboy could probably date their calendars based on the numerous teases Nintendo dropped—either through a particular Easter egg in Link Between Worlds or the blatant playfulness which Eiji Aonuma teased the idea during various interviews.  Fans have been clamoring for this for a long time—it’s gratifying to see Nintendo finally respond.

Here’s hoping they don’t change a thing.  A new generation of gamer should get the opportunity to get freaked out by putting on the zora mask for the first time.
