Though not exactly focused on Europe and North America, today's Japanese Nintendo Direct has pumped out quite a few goodies for the audience. Let's recap the event, but keep in mind, these are Japanese announcements, so some of these games may not even see the light here in the West.
Dragon Quest VIII will be re-released for the Nintendo 3DS on August 27th.
Previous reports indicate that the 3DS version will feature an appearance change to the map, two additional party members - Morrie and Red - along with new scenarios featuring Dhoulmagus and the hero's backstory.
Super Robot Taisen BX will release on August 20th.
Battle Cats has hit the Japanese 3DS directly after Nintendo Direct.
This title looks cute, but rather... creepy. It is only available as an e-Shop title and contains head-to-head multiplayer.
Fire Emblem If will feature 'My Castle,' which allows you to build and maintain your town.
Within the SRPG, you have the opportunity to design the town and monitor resources. There will be invasions though that attempt to thrash your town.
The game will also support four current amiibo - Lucina, Robin, Marth, and Ike.
Rhythm Heaven: The Best Plus plans to be released this year.
Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and an Animal Crossing-themed New Nintendo 3DS have been announced, and they will be released on July 30th.
It's a simplistic game where you basically decorate the homes of your favorite animals. It will be the first game to support amiibo cards, which are used to unlock more characters. Series co-director Hasashi Nogami has POSSIBLY and vaguely hinted that the game is just one part that intertwines with Animal Crossing on the Wii U.
Famicon Remix (Otherwise Known as NES Ultimate Remix) - The Best, will arrive on the 3DS sometime.
Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon gameplay has been revealed.
The Legendaries look huge in this, but the game carries the same style as the previous games and appears quite dramatic.
A new Chibi Robo game, Guru-Guru! Chibi-Robo!, has been announced, complete with side-scrolling goodness.
What will accompany Guru-Guru! Chibi-Robo! is an adorable Chibi-Robo Amiibo, which can enable Chibi to become a briefly invincible, super sonic golden Chibi-Robo! The game is due for the 3DS this fall.
A new Dr. Mario game, which features Dr. Luigi, has been released for the Nintendo 3DS.
Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games has been announced and will release on both the Wii U and the 3DS.
This entry will include the additions of Rugby and Golf. There has been no official release date as of now.
Super Mario Galaxy has arrived on the Wii U.
Punch Out!! and Trauma Center will be released within the next few months.
The release date for Yoshi's Wooly World in Japan has been announced, releasing July 16th, 2015.
Oddly enough, the European release date is June 26, 2015, the Australian release date is June 25th, 2015, and the North American release date is sometime in September 2015.
The video shows off over 50 different types of Wooly Yoshis, including Rainbow Yoshi, Piranha Yoshi, Winter Yoshi, Moo-Moo (teehee) Yoshi, and Famicom Yoshi. The Wii U entry will feature power badges, which are used to unleash special powers.
Wave 6 Amiibo release date has been set for July 30th. The set will include three new figures: Dr. Mario, Captain Olimar, and Bowser Jr.
New gameplay trailer for the free-to-play Wii U exclusive Project Treasure has been revealed.
This title appears to be a four-player cooperative third-person action game where you raid tombs (a la Tomb Raider). The characters appear to be very diverse.
Poka Poka Airou Village DX and Monster Hunter X have been announced for the 3DS.
Monster Hunter X will focus on customizable styles for each weapon. There are four different gameplay styles to select.
Village DX is a cross between Monster Hunter and Animal Crossing, where baby monster eggs can be raised. Mario and Animal Crossing outfits will be available in the game. Village DX will be released on September 10th, and Monster Hunter X will arrive in Winter of 2015.
So there you have it! So much has been unveiled in Japan, and more than likely, a lot of them (hopefully all) will reach North American shores. If you want to watch the entire presentation, tune in below:
