Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past, one of the most anticipated handheld JRPGs of 2016, is going to end up alongside many others in the delay pile. It turns out that during yesterday's Nintendo Direct presentation, which was covered by Pocru, Nintendo confirmed that Dragon Quest VII has been pushed from summer to late 2016. At least this would make a great holiday gift, in this case.
The culprit most likely has to do with the re-localization of the DQVII script, as it is the second time the title will be hitting the West. Well, it should be worth the wait, nevertheless.
DQVII is all about time traveling to the past in order to rescue the present and has been built from the ground up strictly for the 3DS. In other words, the world, characters, and the story has been rebuilt.
The original, titled Dragon Warrior VII, earned an 8.7 out of 10 on IGN 15 years ago, so at least we're expecting an improvement over the already awesome title.
Well, at least there's another similar title to keep our eyes peeled for: Dragon Quest VIII. That said, it's also important to note that Dragon Quest VI also released for both the Android and iOS late last year, so it's good to have most of the Dragon Quest games see the West now.
