Now, this may not be the biggest news story in the world, but it's definitely interesting. The Xbox One has a new app on their store called Win64e10. This is app is a Nintendo 64 emulator that can be downloaded and used directly from your Xbox One. Is it going to be available for a long time? If I had to take a shot in the dark, I would say probably not. There was a NES emulator on the Xbox One a little while ago, but that was taken down fairly quickly. I'm most interested in seeing what Nintendo is going to do about it.
A lot of people use emulators for the N64 every single day. The games aren't available in many stores, and at this point in the game, the console and games are probably worth about a handful of pebbles. That being said, maybe it would be in Nintendo's best interest to let this stay. People will start playing old titles on their new console, rather than their computer. It may end up warming some hearts up to the idea of buying the NX. Not too sure, but the way I see it, Nintendo isn't profiting off of the N64 right now at all. Why not leave it, get some publicity, and maybe help out the NX launch. Even if it doesn't effect the NX sales at all, Nintendo doesn't really lose anything.
