Twitch has quickly come to rival YouTube as a place for content creators – specifically streamers – to make a name and a fortune for themselves, usually by being absolute dicks when they play online games. One such dick is Ninja, who catapulted into mainstream fame when he streamed a few matches of Fortnite with Drake. Since then, he’s only gotten more popular and has used his popularity well with charity streams and the like. And a mixture of good luck and hard work has meant that he’s officially become the PewDieDie of Twitch (in a matter of speaking), as he has just hit 10 million subscribers, easily crowning him as the #1 personality on the entire Twitch service.

As a point of comparison, the number two ranking on Twitch is a fellow named meclipse, who has around 4 million subscribers to his name.

In any case, Ninja had this to say over Twitter about the news:

First streamer on twitch to ever hit 10 million followers! This milestone is seriously ridiculous and the one I am most proud of. I have been streaming for a very very long time... and I cannot express how grateful I am to be in the position I am in. Love you guys

Good on him for taking it with grace and the like. Despite calling him a dick in the first paragraph, I don’t actually know that much about him, and from everything I can find about him he seems like a pretty stand-up guy, sans the whole "N-word" incident. But hey, at least he’s not making poorly-conceived Nazi jokes, tricking poor people into holding up racist signs, or cheating on his wife. Being a  white guy, I'm not really in a position to say how bad his past problems have been compared to everything else that's been done by famous idiots on the internet, but at least his apology sounded sincere and he hasn't done it again, if that counts for anything.
