NieR: Automata Has a Release Date in Japan

I swear I'm not hyperventilating at the lack of a Western release date.

NieR: Automata has an official release date! YAY! I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it!

But there is some bad news that complements the joyous news:

The release date only pertains to Japan. Augh. So much augh.

I suppose I have to contain my excitement for just a little longer. So apparently, NieR: Automata, the glorious action-RPG sequel to the cult hit NieR, will release onto the PlayStation 4 on February 23, 2017. In other words, much sooner than originally anticipated for release... anywhere.

This is according to both Twitter and the most recent, trailer:

Isn't the trailer downright amazing? The contents have stirred a backflip from within my soul!

Nevertheless, us Westerners shouldn't weep just yet at the lack of release date. We're still expecting early 2017, so... we only need to wait so long before our twiddled thumbs disintegrate. Right? I hope so. Maybe we will be seeing a Western release date soon, which could happen to be the same date as Japan. Please?

PLEASE!?

I'm dying for some NieR!
