Awesome Games Done Quick, the annual charity marathon, has posted the official schedule for their next week-long event. The charity event will begin on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018 at 11:30 AM and go for an entire week, ending on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018 in the early hours of the morning. The entire event will be taking place live at the Hilton Washington Dulles in Herndon, Virginia.
Throughout the week, there will be a non-stop live stream of the best speed-runners there are trying to get the fastest time in an extensive list of video games. The games range from longtime classics like Skyrim, Castlevania, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time to new titles like Splatoon 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to lesser known games like Home Alone 2 and The Titanic Video Game.
The week will start out with the more recent releases, while the games get more and more obscure as you continue to watch. Saturday is when the big guns will come out with the most popular games (I look forward to Bloodborne). The event will end with a 4-hour run of the hit open-world Zelda iteration: Breath of the Wild.
Having done this nine times before, this event has been created in an effort to raise money for charity. Viewers can donate money to the event, which will go to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Last year, a new record was set with $2.2 million raised.
The full schedule of games and speed runners can be found here.
