New XCOM 2: War of the Chosen Trailer Focuses on Gameplay

As an XCOM fan, you could safely assume I was pretty excited when I saw the first teaser for their upcoming expansion, War of the Chosen. I mean, it's looking to dramatically re-shape the way you play the game, with new resistance factions, new allies, and way more enemies, plus the addition of new voiced enemies that will mess up your day in unexpected ways? Sign me up!

The only thing that's left me feeling cold is the trailers themselves: they barely look like XCOM! It's all cinematics and junk. Where can I see some of that sweet, sweet XCOM 2 gameplay?

Well, the folks at Firaxis heard my prayer and answered in kind. Here's the latest in the war against the aliens:



A little... dry. And boring, maybe. But a great look at what we can actually expect when we give the game a go come August 29th.

I, for one, can't wait.
