New Study Claims Video Games Make Children Dumb



A recent study released by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences claims that video games make children dumber by lowering their understanding of life and death. The study actually claims that teenagers aren't as smart because they believe in reincarnation, which is something that many people around the world strongly believe in.

81.5% of fifth graders said they don't believe in reincarnation while only 61.4% of intermediate and high school students said they believed in reincarnation. This is a very odd way to determine if video games wreak havoc on your children's intelligence levels, but the CASS claims that high schoolers have a "misunderstanding" of death and how dangerous it is.

According to the CASS, these young adults might actually "think they can be revived", although resurrection and reincarnation are two different things. They also said that "video game resurrection can create a disregard for life", but the study doesn't make much sense if you think about it.

This isn't the first time China has published studies about the adverse effects of video games on children, and it's really starting to look like they have a secret agenda.

China has released various studies in the past about the adverse effects of video games on the development of young people. In China, they censor death as much as possible, as skeletons and other stuff related to death are often taken out of video games. It seems as if the Chinese government is trying to control the values of its population by deciding what video games should and should not depict.

Maybe they should pay more attention to the potential of video games for teaching children problem solving skills?
