New Pokemon Short is Done in 1930's Cartoon Style

Life is hard. The world is scary. Let’s enjoy a spot of wholesomeness before we delve back into the mire of crap that constitutes reality these days.

As reported by Kotaku, a new video has been posted on the Japanese YouTube channel, Pokémon Kids TV. Normally, this wouldn’t be that interesting, as it’s a Japanese channel and therefore most Americans don’t really know what the heck is going on, and the videos are generally 3D skits of Pokémon teaching kids about life and stuff – you know, your standard fare for shows aimed at really, really young kids.

But this one is special. Give it a watch to see what I mean:



That’s right: not only is it drawn in a near-authentic 1930’s animation style, it also emulates that style’s use of visual humor and lack of dialogue, which means it can be enjoyed regardless of the languages you speak. It’s pretty darn cute too.

Anyway, that’s it. I just wanted ya’ll to see this video.
