If you were a fan of Nintendo back in the GameCube era, you've probably heard of Pikmin. It's a real-time strategy game that forces the use of different kinds of Pikmin in order to advance through the game. Growing up in Nintendo 64 and GameCube eras has really given me a huge appreciation for storyline driven games. Pikmin was one of my favorites growing up and it's awesome to hear that a new Pikmin game was announced today for the 3DS.
At Nintendo Direct today, Nintendo announced that a brand new side-scrolling Pikmin game will be released for 3DS. There's no official name for the game yet and there will be some changes from the console version. First of all, your choice of Pikmin will be thinned out quite a bit. In the console version, you have a decent amount of Pikmin to choose from. For the 3DS version, there will be less options, but that may work out for the better since it is a much simpler game than the console versions. There's also the side-scrolling aspect. A side-scroller will work out much better on a 3DS than if they tried to create it like a console version. Keep it simple, and keep it fun. This is the first portable Pikmin title, and will be available at some point in 2017.
