Overwatch's newest Hero is Orisa. Officially debuted earlier this month, Orisa was created by an eleven-year-old genius named Efi Oladele. Orisa has been in the Overwatch's public test realm since her official debut, and millions of players have already tested her out, and fallen in love with her. As far as her backstory goes, she's new to being a hero, and doesn't yet know her place in the world as the Overwatch team describes it. Jeff Kaplan believes she's the next "Anchor" tank similar to Reinhardt, explaining that she will be a core hero in the game.

The inspiration for Orisa has a lot to do with Numbani. Numbani being sort of a technology powerhouse served as the perfect place for Orisa to hail from. Orisa's green, brown and earth tone colors match the overall look and feel of Numbani.

"Reinhardt is one of the only characters that can can really stand his ground, mark a spot, and move with his team real slow, So we thought there was a great opportunity there for another option." says lead designer Geoff Goodman.

It seems as though Orisa is meant to be a great alternative choice to Reinhardt since she has a lot of team boosting abilities and the ability to stand her ground at the cost of maneuverability. It will be interesting to see how the eSports scene mixes Orisa into the competitive meta, and what amazing hero combinations they come up with. It's definitely nice to see another robot coming to the game, hopefully Zenyatta and Bastion won't be so lonely anymore.

Orisa and Efi's backstory is roughly explained during their Origin story, but I think we can look forward to getting some more information about Efi specifically in the future via comics and animated shorts. Check out Orisa's origin story below.
