New Overwatch Comic highlights Bastion and Torbjorn

Bastion is pretty damn cute for a robot.

Overwatch is known for being arguably the first person shooter with the best and most rich back story, especially without even having a campaign mode. One of the way's Blizzard so brilliantly tells the story of their world and its characters is through short comics. In their newest comic titled "Binary", we get to see how Bastion and Torbjorn met, as well as some backstory on the origin of Bastion himself.

Bastions used to be mass produced turrets for war, and the only Bastion that we know and love today is the only one that was able to break protocol and change for the better. No longer a machine for killing, Bastion is a peaceful, loving robot, at least when he's not annoying us in-game behind a Reinhardt shield. In this comic, Torbjorn is hired to track down Bastion and destroy him as people believed he posed a threat to society like the old Bastions.  It didn't take long for Torbjorn to notice how Bastion was different from the other models.  He quickly saw that bastion loved flowers and animals, rather than an immediate desire to shoot and kill.

Overwatch is known for being a game that encourages bravery, diversity, and justice. This short story might just have a little underlying message like most of Blizzard's comics do.  The story of Bastion tells us that even against all odds, anyone, or anything can change.

(SPOILERS)

Of course, as humans do, they ignored Torbjorn's comments about Bastions innocence and decided to disobey him and attempt to destroy him regardless. Torbjorn, like the lovable sweetish softy that he is, trapped the soldiers and helped Bastion escape.
