Anthem, BioWare's newest shooter, is all about humans on alien planets. While the trailer for the game looks great (you can check it out at the bottom of this article), we should be able to expect quite a bit more from it. Earlier this month it was announced that Drew Karpyshyn, the lead writer for Mass Effect 1 and 2, will be working on Anthem.
While the Mass Effect series was absolutely incredible, Anthem is going to be a bit different. Mass Effect was a very science-based game where actions had reasonable explanations for why they were occurring. In Anthem, there is going to be a whole bunch of stuff going on, but you should leave the "why" and "how" behind.
The game is being compared to Star Wars or the Marvel Universe. Stuff is going on, and while we aren't exactly sure why, we just accept it. The same concept applies here. In interviews, it has been stated that while the game is quite a bit of fantasy, the encounters and experiences are based on some of the writers' personal lives.
I don't know which one of them ever encountered hostile forces on a distant planet, but hey, maybe that's one of the "don't ask about it" parts of the game. Check out the trailer down below and wait until Anthem comes out in the Fall of 2018!
