... I should rephrase that.
Who doesn't love destruction in a video game!?
If you're an addict of the sweet bliss of explosions and disarray in video games, then you'd be pleased to know that there a new FlatOut game is arriving, exclusively for the Xbox One.
Rebirthed from its ashes -- caused by hours of mayhem -- by publisher Strategy First Inc. and Kylotonn Entertainment, FlatOut will zoom onto the console sometime in 2016. Expect the game to carry on its own legacy of destructive environments and fun mini-games, but do not expect the original developer of the FlatOut series, Bugbear Entertainment, to lend a hand in this project.
Now, here is a note to be wary of: Kylotonn Games is known for the Motorcycle Club, released back in 2014 for the PlayStation 4, PC, and PlayStation 3. Bluntly stated, Motorcycle Club was a major flop, earning an impressive Metascore of 26 and a User Score of 2.0. The racing experience boasted terrible controls, slow motorbikes, and atrocious sound design. In other words, it was better off tossed in a fire.
(Editor's Note: I can vouch for the scores -- Having downloaded and played the demo, I admit I want an entitled refund for abusing my PlayStation 4 with this pile of sludge.)
That being said, let's hope that the team doesn't kill a once beloved series.
The only information that is known so far about the game, besides the above, is what Strategy First director Emanuel Wall states:
"FlatOut is our most important franchise. There is a strong vocal community that have numerous constructive ideas and suggestions on what they would like to experience in an all new FlatOut. We would like to invite anyone who is a fan of FlatOut to be part of the process. We are excited about our partnership with Kylotonn Entertainment."
Roman Vincent, of Kylotonn Entertainment, also provides his own input:
"Strategy First and Kylotonn will create an exciting FlatOut experience. The online game community will still have everything that originally made FlatOut such a great title. While at the same time we here at Kylotonn will introduce and create new experiences and moments that we think people will love."
Look forward to the oncoming weeks, as more information on the upcoming title will be unveiled.
