No one was surprised to see Far Cry 5 show up at Ubisoft's E3: that was the biggest-ticket game they've announced before the actual event, and even now that it's sharing space with Assassin's Creed and Beyond Good & Evil 2, it's still fairly big news, if only for the controversy surrounding it. Which is silly, of course, America is just as likely as anywhere else to be home to a insurrection of violent, gun-wielding extremists: in fact, it's kind of a whole counter-culture. Plus it'll make sense that guns are everywhere, that's also our whole thing, as Americans.

Anyway, E3 gave us two new trailers for Far Cry 5, the first being a strict gameplay video showing off some serious sniping.

You get a dog! That's adorable! I can't wait to see when the developers decide to kill it!

In addition to the gameplay, we got a straight-up story trailer, showing off some of the atmosphere of the game, and a better look at our fanatical cult leader who'll act as the primary antagonist, The Father Joseph Seed.

In Far Cry 5, you play as a deputy sheriff (either in single-player or two player co-op) trying to save the district, which has been cut off from the rest of the world by said extremist cult. There's no help, and you can't call 911, cuz buddy, that's you. Still, you can enlist friendly NPC's, who'll snipe at cultists from high ground and plow into them with trucks, because this is still America and what could be more American than that?

Far Cry 5 comes out February 28th, 2018.
