It clears nothing up.

It's been a while since Kojima confused us. Fortunately, the Tokyo Game Show was here to provide us with a new Death Stranding trailer, which doesn't throw as much weirdness as the others have before, but it does feature Troy Baker.

Running a bit over a minute long, it begins with the familiar face of the protagonist. He's carrying a young looking individual on his back when he's interrupted by a mysterious stranger in a golden mask. The stranger, using the mask, summons a simply massive beast-dog thing, which he leaves the protagonist to fight against.

As for what this means in the lore, I have no clue. This does imply the ability to control the lost souls in the outside world. Maybe. It's all very confusing.

Less confusing was the follow-up tweets. concept art by the publisher reveals the character designs for in-game characters and the actors they're based on. This includes Tommie Earl Jenkins, Lea Seydoux, Lindsay Wagner, Troy Baker, and Guillermo del Toro himself.

Death Stranding will release on PS4 at an undisclosed date.
