Last night, Nintendo announced another new contender for the fighting game, ARMS. Misango, the Native American-inspired fighter, brings the total roster count up to 13.
Referred to as Ver. 4, this update will introduce a collection of new content relating to the fighter, as well as the fighter himself of course. The update includes Misango, the new stage "Temple Grounds", and 3 new arm options: Scorpio, Glusher, and Skully.
Misango comes with scorpions for fists and a spirit guide to aid him in battle. The new Arms options were designed with him in mind, with unpredictable motion and a poison that damages over time. The spirit is where things get interesting. Unique to Misango, the player can absorb a nearby spirit by charging, giving him a special mask and interesting powers. What the spirit does depends on the color it is at the time of absorption.
The red spirit will give him super armor, which lets him resist flinching when punched. The blue spirit will give him increased mobility. The yellow mask will automatically guard him against blocks for a period of time when he activates his rush combo.
Misango will provide a new tactic to the popular fighting game, one that is very much welcomed. Watch the reveal trailer for Misango below. This update will be free to all players. You can purchase ARMs for the Nintendo Switch for $60.
