New ARK expansion Scorched Earth has been Released

A new ARK expansion has just been released. It launched on September 1st and was a very well kept secret. Most streamers and YouTubers that make ARK videos were unaware of this expansion. The Scorched Earth expansion offers players a new map, new dinos, and new items. There are also several new dangers to look out for and a ton of new things to keep you busy. ARK: Scorched Earth throws players into a rocky, sandy wasteland of a map and players are forced to survive in the blistering heat. This biome change has introduced several new dinosaurs including moths, small furry companion creatures called Jerboas, and even dragons. Now obviously there are many more dinosaurs than just these, but so far those have been the most interesting.

Dragons are capable of breathing fire, as well as lightning. The map will have sandstorms that players will have to find shelter from. It will also include lightning storms, which will attempt to destroy any electrical creations you've made. For defensive and survival items, the expansion offers new armor sets, brand new construction items, and a well. Water is scare in the barren desert, so find a good spot for your well and build a base around that. Even berries will no longer hydrate you, put will fill your hunger meter. Some dinosaurs now have a water meter which can be filled up and allows you to drink from it if you go on a long journey. Wandering around for water is very difficult and having a safe place to go home to is essential for survival.

For new offensive items, the whip, boomerang, flamethrower, homing rockets, and of course the chainsaw have been introduced and they all look amazing. The boomerang will help you knock out dinos (and people), the homing rocket will track and hunt down the enemy it's being shot at, the flamethrower and chainsaw are both fairly self explanatory, while the whip allows you to gather a ton of supplies from long range, hit dinosaurs to make them move faster, and even pick up dropped loot from far away. The whip can also knock equipped items out of a person's hand and if you whip a second time you will pick up their dropped item.
