"Age of Empires II" is a great game, but who would have thought they would release an expansion pack 13 years after its release. The game was first released in 1999 and now a new expansion pack will be released sometime this fall. The expansion pack, titled "The Forgotten" will be released via Steam, and it is actually for the newly released HD edition of Age of Empires II. So technically, it is not for the original 1999 game, it is for the new version of the game which was released last year.
The expansion pack will feature four new historical campaigns, five new civilizations and a few new multiplayer maps. There will also be new gameplay perks and units, while you will also have the ability to control 500 units at once. There are two new online gameplay modes, "Treaty" and "Capture the Relic".
Many people are anticipating the expansion's release, however there is no exact release date scheduled for it yet. "The Forgotten" will be released soon, and there is a great deal of new content to anticipate! Check out the video below for the official announcement of "The Forgotten" expansion pack for AoE II:HD.
