We reported way back in February that Netflix was going to be home to a new Castlevania series, which would presumably tell the tale of one of the Belmont's battle against the lord of darkness himself, Dracula. That was... pretty much all we knew at the time, and I'll admit I kind of forgot it was a thing, until something quite interesting popped up in the news the other day: a very abrupt yet very welcome trailer for the series, as well as a release date.

Let's enjoy the trailer, shall we?

And... that's pretty much it, along with the release date of July 7th.

Yeah, I'm a little bummed too, especially since a good 40 seconds or so were dedicated to showing off the cartage and stuff, but we did learn a few things. For example, we now know without a doubt the series will be animated, and in anime style to boot. We can also safely assume it won't follow the strict plot of the first game, given that there appears to be more than one character.

Excited? Consider me on the fence, but new trailers are bound to come around soon enough, and we'll see how I feel after that. But what does my opinion matter?
