Netflix Confirms Richter Belmont for Next Castlevania Animated Series - E3 2021

The Castlevania anime on Netflix turned heads for its gritty and action packed depiction of Trever Belmont and his fight against Dracula. And while the fourth season was his last, this isnt the end for the show. Netflix has now confirmed production on the next Castlevania show series, following Richter Belmont.

This was announced during Netflix Geeked Week, a livestreamed showcase for revealing gaming related content during E3. In it, three members of the animation studio in charge of the Castlevania show came on to reveal that they are now working on another in-universe story, featuring Richter Belmont and Maria Renard.

The show will take place during 1792, amid the French Revolution. While the plot of the show was not detailed, were running on the assumption that it will be some variation of the story told in Rondo of Blood, the game Richter originates from.

Richter is one of the most popular Belmont characters, appearing in numerous games, including Symphony of the Night, which many consider to not only be one of the best Castlevania games, but an all-time classic and genre defining game. Hes even a Super Smash Bros character.

The studio did an amazing job with Trevors story, which is the earliest in the Belmont timeline. Jumping hundred of years forward, its not a surprising decision, but not one we were expecting. All the same, we have faith that theyll do a wonderful job with the show.
