"Neo Tokyo's origin began as the popular Rocket Labs arena, Underpass. This was the first arena to have multiple levels and was inspired by feedback from top-level players. Now, it returns with afantastic visual theme and streamlined gameplay improvements!"
Not only that but there will be four Battle-Cars included in the update, which Collector's Edition owners will have early access to. There's the sleek-appearing Masamune and the completely badass Esper, which will remain exclusive to CE owners from June 24 (Europe) and July 5 (North America) until July 18, then they will be available for purchase digitally.
Also expect a couple of classic cars from Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars to make a return, thanks to the clamoring of fans! There's the jet-inspired Aftershock and the "monstrous" Marauder to tinker with, which will remain exclusive to CE owners from June 24 (Europe) and July 5 (North America) until July 18. All four vehicles will be available for purchase at $1.99 per car or regional equivalent.
On top of the new arena and four new cars will be the new rare items and trade-in system, which you can read more about here. Basically, all you need to do is to trade in five items of the same quality in order to receive an item of the next highest quality. So if you're looking to complete your collection, you'll have a reason to get rid of your duplicates.
But that's not all there is to the update. You'll be able to indulge in new colors for your favorite items or be able to track special stats with others. And of course, you can't forget about the new rare items!
Finally Season 3 of the tournament will begin alongside the Neo Tokyo update, and players will be able to obtain rewards based on the highest competitive skill tier reached as well as the tiers below the highest. Season 2 Rewards include the following premium boosts:
- Prospect
- Challenger
- Star
- Champion
- Pillars, a new experimental Arena that separates the field into three lanes via two massive walls in the middle of the stadium
- Eight new Trophies and Achievements on all three platforms [Blog Coming June 13]
- A new, in-game Showroom that allows players to view and purchase all previously-released and future premium DLC [Blog Coming June 15]
