Disney's TRON is a sci-fi, teccy series that is embraced by many fans worldwide. Personally, I have only known of TRON through Kingdom Hearts, but this high-tech adventure has been existent since 1982, receiving much praise from critics. The sequel of the original, Tron: Legacy, scored decently in 2010, but unfortunately, those excited for TRON 3 faced disappointment as the project was canned by Walt Disney. Fans have recently taken to Change.org in hopes of reviving TRON 3, but no answer has surfaced thus far.

Though no progress has been made on the "film front," fans of Tron--who are also quite likely to be gamers--will be pleased to know that a new TRON title, by Disney Interactive Studios, has slipped into the Brazilian ratings board. The full title of the game will be TRON: Escape, and it has plans to launch on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. As for a release date? None yet.

It is also important to note that the game falls under the category of "Arcade." What could the gameplay entail, in that case? At the least, the gameplay would involve those speedy lightcycles. Unfortunately, there are no additional details of the game.

Though the news wasn't straight from the horse's mouth, TRON: Escape will hopefully bear some of that TRON magic that will satisfy fans.

With luck Disney Interactive will be confirming TRON: Escape very soon, with a bit more info included. Perhaps with an announcement of the continuation of TRON 3.
