The original Mount and Blade was a surprising hit that took off in popularity. Players everywhere took to the fractured, feudal kingdom to make names for themselves. Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord intends to bring that to a new level.
We might could have asked to come inside first
The sequel still has the basics from the first game. Players can fully customize their characters, and each one leads a full army. What they do with that army is up to them and fully influences the game world. As the game progresses, players can upgrade skills. Of course, the meat of the game involves the huge battlefields where gamers lead their armies into epic struggles. Each battle has the protagonist personally leading the charge against enemies. The players can choose between micromanaging troops or letting them do their own thing.
Seriously, just try knocking first!
One example during E3 was a siege on an enemy castle. This time, before starting the actual action, players can plan where each structure of war goes. This ranges from siege towers and battering rams to catapults. You can even specifically command and take control of these units as well. The good thing is that each castle will have its own unique design, so there's no way to set up one kind of siege to take them all. Each experience is different, and if players do not keep that in mind, they may end up falling in combat. In such cases, players will finish watching the fight in hopes to keep the upper hand. However, losing has some implications. Your captors can jail you or ransom you back to your army, leaving you much worse off than before. However, such is the life of a warlord. For those us seeking the thrill of battle, Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord is expecting a 2017 release.
