Ladies and gentleman, Ive got exciting news for you: the one, the only, the long-awaited, the beloved Mount and Banner 2: Bannerlord finally has a release date, and bless me, its sooner than I had ever possibly hoped.

So heres the story: ages and ages ago, TaleWorlds announced that they were going to make a follow-up to the critically acclaimed medieval sandbox game. In Mount and Blade, you were able to live (almost) any way you wanted: you could be a freelance mercenary, a duke, a traveling trader, a bandit, or even found your own faction and take over the whole darn world. Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord promised to bring that style of game to the modern world with improved graphics, battles, and even a plot, which the last game more or less relied on you to imagine.

Like with the first game, it also has a multiplayer mode that focuses on the clunky but charming battles, where you have to manually swing your mouse around to use your weapon. Good times.

Wed been waiting a long time well, Ive been waiting a long time at least but the official release date has been announced to be March 31 of this very year. Well, release is putting it too strongly. Thats when it launches in early access, and given the nature of these games, itll probably be buggy as all heck. But Ill still be able to get my hands on it, thats what matters.

Anyway, with luck, TaleWorlds will use the time leading up to the release of the game to give us some more information about it, since so far weve only been fed bits and pieces. I, for one, would like to know how the character customization will work, for example.

But Ill be good and wait. Ive waited this long, after all.
