Mortal Kombat X Adds Classic Fatalities for Free

Kill your enemies with klass!

You know, with every new Mortal Kombat game released, the developers feel they have to one-up themselves in the gore factor. A lil’ something they did to themselves when they decided to sell their game on gore rather than, say, fluidity or speed the way other games have. And while the latest Mortal Kombat game certainly has its share of bowel-shredding finishers, sometimes it gets so elaborate it’s just hard to take seriously anymore.

So it’s good to go back to the classics sometimes. Fortunately, you won’t have to bring out your old NES or boot up the emulator to make that happen: because NetherRealm Studio has just released the Klassic Fatality Pack to all players, free of charge. This DLC adds four new fatalities to the game for Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Sonya, and Johnny Cage… and by 'new,' I mean fatalities from the first game rendered in glorious high definition.

Check it out in this video not done by me.

Not the biggest DLC pack, all things considered, but free is good, and celebrations of our shared gaming history is even better. Just… none of that ‘build your own fatality’ thing anymore, please. I hated that. So much.
