The Elder Scrolls Online is still chugging along, despite itself, and after last year’s big expansion in Tamriel Unlimited, fans have been clamoring to see what new and exciting content will be swept into the game come 2017. Well, the funny thing about that: you know how fans of the Elder Scrolls games have been pushing Bethesda to remake The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind and they staunchly refused? Well now ya’ll can get your fill of the weird and wonderful goodness of the island of Vvardenfell because the next big expansion to come to ESO is called “Morrowind."

You’re welcome.

"With the same geographic footprint as The Elder Scrolls III, the island of Vvardenfell includes all key points of interest from the classic game. Players will visit legendary locales throughout Vvardenfell, from the docks of Seyda Neen to the volcanic Ashlands, to dense forests of towering mushrooms, all the way through to the wizard enclave of Sadrith Mora."

It's worth note, however, that the game takes 700 years before the events of the Elder Scrolls 3, so don’t expect too many familiar faces.

Anyway, onto the meat and bones of the expansion, it adds a new zone, Vvardenfell, as well as a new class called The Warden, which you saw in the cinematic up there. Wardens harness nature-based magic, but also use bears in combat, so I cannot imagine a single reason you’d play anyone else. There’s a new Trial, which is a 12-player dungeon, and a new 4v4v4 mode.

It seems designed for new players who might be hungry for Morrowind content because apparently new players can simply leap into the island of Vvardenfell and skip the rest of the game that surrounds it. New players also get the better deal, as they can get both expansions and the full game for 60 bucks, while long-time players will have to pay a solid 40 for the new content.

So be you a long-time player or a first timer, get ready for a bunch of Morrowind stuff, plus bears. Seems like a solid deal tome.

It’ll be released for PC/Mac, PS4, and Xbox One come June 6th, 2017
