For the second month in a row, Microsoft's Xbox One console has outsold Sony's PS4 console. Before these last two months, the PS4 had outsold the Xbox One in every single month except for October. This was, however, just before the announcement of the upgraded PS4 consoles. That may help Sony in the coming months, but with all the negative things being said about the new PS4 models, it may actually just propel Microsoft further along. The Xbox One S will have features that won't be included in the PS4 Pro, including HD 4K Blu-Ray support. The PS4 Pro is also said to not have native 4K. People believe that they will just be enlarging the games to force them to be 4K.
Microsoft hasn't been on top in the console war for a very long time. They still have a long way to go, as Sony has sold much more units if you look throughout the entire timeline, but this spike for Xbox One consoles definitely aren't making Microsoft upset. This might be the moment for Microsoft to step up and fight for their place as the head of console gaming. This generation still has plenty of time left to go, but they might have to wait a few more years for the next generation. If Microsoft can apply what they've learned to their next line of consoles, this could be a very close battle.
