More than 50,300 People Attended E3 2016; E3 2017 Dates Set

E3 2016 has probably not been as mind-blowing as last year's E3 (which was nigh impossible to beat anyway), but that doesn't mean it was terrible by any sense of the word. That said, E3 2016 is about over, and attendance numbers have been calculated. The organizers confirmed that there were more than 50,300 attendees at the three-day convention, according to the Entertainment Software Association.

That's a 3.6 percent decrease from E3 2015, when over 52,200 attended the show. That said, that was also the first time that the attendance surpassed the 50,000 mark in over a decade. This year, the ESA held its first-ever E3 Live, which was a free event at L.A. Live which was open to the public. The attendance numbers for that? 20,000.

Well, now that E3 is basically said and done, we should be thinking about E3 2017, huh? Next year, E3 2017 will take place June 13-15, 2017 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
