MK11's New Shang Tsung Trailer Teases Evil Dead's Ash and The Terminator

Not confirmed, but the Data Miners agree.

The first round of DLC for the recently released Mortal Kombat 11 is being brought to light. And to be the harbinger of these new fighters is none other than Shang Tsung, now complete with gameplay trailer.

The trailer also confirms the inclusion of Nightwolf, Sindel, and Spawn. The end teases two more fighters, but we'll get to that.

Shang Tsung was originally confirmed for MK11 back in March. He's based on his character in the 1995 live-action Mortal Kombat film, even retaining the original character actor, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. In lore, he was an evil sorcerer that would shapeshift into the forms of those whose soul he's taken.

In Mortal Kombat 11, his shapeshifting form is utilized to its greatest potential. A number of combos and moves feature him shifting into various Mortal Kombat characters just long enough to perform signature moves. His special moves and fatalities reflect this. He can even take in the soul of his opponent, becoming them temporarily.

The trailer concluded by stating that two more fighters have yet to be revealed. An electronic drone, as well as chainsaw sounds, can be heard at this moment. This has led many viewers to believe that Ash (from the Evil Dead) and the Terminator will the final two fighters.

This theory is backed up by data miners, which found game files referencing Ash, Terminator, and the Joker of DC comic fame. Shame. As cool as Ash is, I'd love to see Doomguy and his signature chainsaw as a fighter.

Players can access Shang Tsung on June 18. He will be part of the Kombat Pack, a DLC containing 6 new fighters and a variety of smaller bonuses for $39.99.
