MISERY, The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat Mod is Released

A mod project for the highly acclaimed horror shooter game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat has finished development and has been released to the public. MISERY took the 2009 first-person shooter by GCS Game World and overhauled nearly every aspect of it, refining it into a well polished and fleshed out experience.

The third iteration in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, Call of Pripyat was based on the Ukrainian city of Pripyat. Centered around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Exclusion Zone, the majority of Call of Pripyat's gameplay focused on a combination of both post-apocalyptic horror and tactical role-playing action.

MISERY is a fan made mod originally released in 2014 with the goal of improving the challenge and quality of the core game. Now a new version of the MISERY mod has been released, which sets in the biggest changes to the natural game. There are 63 unique modifications set in place within the mod. With the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat receiving extremely high ratings and reviews when it had released, the dedication to this project is my favorite aspect of this. It shows that a great game can last the test of time. However, this mod could be what take it from being a great game to an amazing game.
