Mirage: Arcane Warfare is a very unique looking fighting game that comes from the developers of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. Chivalry still has a large, loyal player base almost fight years after its initial launch, and is one of if not the most renowned and most popular fighting games on the market, at least at an indie level. Mirage: Arcane Warfare is going into closed beta starting today, and the full release of the gaming will be coming on May 23rd.

Arcane Warfare looks similar to Chivalry in a lot of ways, which is good, but it also sets itself apart and shows a lot of innovation. Arcane Warfare sports the same melee system as Chivalry, but it has been drastically improved. It seems to take a lot of inspiration from competitive hero-shooters, and it looks a lot more fast-paced than its predecessor. Torn Banner seems to have put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into the development of Arcane Warfare because the combat, environmental detail, animations and overall creativity of the game is astonishing compared to their previous title.

When I had first found out about the development of Mirage: Arcane Warfare, I was skeptical because I felt that it looked like a re-skin of Chivalry but with magic. After looking at the gameplay, it seems that Torn Banner has done a great job to set Arcane Warfare apart from Chivalry and provide a unique, exhilarating experience. It seems like a great mix of first person shooter/MOBA mechanics centered around a fighting game design.

To celebrate Mirage: Arcane Warfare going into closed beta, Torn Banner has made Chivalry: Medieval Warfare free-to-play for just a day. Definitely, go and try it out if you're at all interested in Arcane Warfare. Though it's not very similar, the combat system will give you a little taste of what's whats to come.
