Minecraft, that game that’s been around for way too long and has no plans on going anywhere, is finding a new place to find home soon--at least, if clever NeoGeo members probing the PEGI ratings website are to be believed.
First things first, the PEGI is basically the ESRB of Europe, an organization that plays and categorizes games based on age of appropriateness. Like the ESRB, they post on their website as well as on boxes the suggested age range for every game, and sometimes--just sometimes--they may accidentally leak unknown game information in the process. In this case, some NeoGeo members saw that the board had information on a Wii U port of Minecraft, despite the fact no port had been officially announced by Nintendo, Mojang, or Microsoft.
Now, this isn’t that weird, when it comes down to it. Microsoft was very open with the fact they had every intention to continue supporting Minecraft on every system it came out on, even rival systems. Microsoft has even published games on Nintendo systems before, such as Viva Pinata. What does make this odd, though, is that apparently the game is coming out today. November 12th.
Not a lot of build-up. But then, it is Minecraft, so how much advertising does that really need? Just a “Oh by the way, Minecraft is here now, go buy it” would probably suffice for most. If they don’t already own it.
Regardless. Look forward to the official announcement sometime today. This is just the leak.
