A new trailer has dropped for the Monster Hunter movie. While it contains very little new footage -- it's mostly just a reel of the director pitching the movie to the game's creators -- we do see a few new monsters, like the iconic Rathalos, and the less iconic Apceros, as well as a single shot of a bow being fired by a monster hunter.
You can check out the trailer below, if you want.
I don't know why it repeats itself near the end there. Might just be trying to pad out the run time.
More interesting than this trailer, however, was a bit of information dropped about the movie at a recent panel at New York Comic Con, where director Paul W.S. Anderson confirmed that the loveable Palicos would be showing up in the movie: and in fact, the super-beefy Meowscular Chef would even be making an appearance.
If we had stopped there, this would sound almost promising, and I'd have reason to look forward to this movie. But it did not stop there, and Anderson added that the relationship between the Meowscular Chef and the main character, played by his wife Milla Jovovich, would be "rather flirtatious", so... enjoy that mental image.
Anyway, the movie has been pushed forward to a late 2020 release, which means if you're willing to risk death to watch a grown woman flirting with a muscular CGI cat, you have something to look forward to this December 30th.
