Sharing is caring, peeps. And Microsoft is giving up its Azure cloud-based technology... well, okay not giving up, exactly, so much as opening it for all developers.
How did this come about?
Well, on Twitter, a fan asked Phil Spencer, head of Xbox division, about Titanfall 2. But more specifically, the fan doesn't want to see Titanfall 2 to not rely on Azure Cloud.
"Hey Phil, any plans to try and lock down Titanfall 2? Hate to see the franchise lose out on Azure Cloud computing and servers."
And in response from Spencer?
"Azure services are available to any game, even other platform exclusives. We wouldn't keep someone from using."
But what about Titanfall 2's relationship to Azure? Will there be a relationship? Well, according to Twitter:
"Np, I know people want me to comment on specific 3rd party games, I just can't. Sorry."
Well, cloud servers did provide an awesome advantage for Titanfall, as it boosted AI, meaning that more processing power was available, boosting graphics. In other words, "Awesome."
Now I suddenly see one benefit of having a game always online at least...
