Try and try again does Microsoft hope to sell the Xbox One console in Japan. They have been securing JRPG exclusives for the console, and just recently a referral program has been introduced.
First of all, only 58,000 units have sold thus far in Japan since its release in the country, but Japan's Microsoft branch is attempting to bring some credibility to the system by introducing the rewards program. What does the program entail? Well, it will last until November 25, 2015, but those who manage to convince friends to purchase an Xbox One will receive 25,000 Xbox rewards points. Additionally, the friend who purchases the console will also receive the same amount. Increases to the reward will happen after referring 3, 10, and 25 friends, including a VIP badge and recognition on the spotlight page, Xbox One page, and Xbox Twitter account.
Will this work? More than likely a little bit, but if anything, it's the game library. Not only that, but the Japanese are more focused on mobile gaming.
