The Xbox One has really been doing well for Microsoft, according to sales for the quarter ending December 31st, 2014. According to the mega corporation, it earned revenues of $26.5 billion. That's quite a bit for a company that had slow intial sales for the Xbox One at the beginning of the fiscal year. During that time, 6.6 million Xbox consoles (including both the 360 and One) have been sold to consumers worldwide. The report attributed the increase in revenue to "strong holiday performance."
The Xbox One did very well in the holiday season, even though Sony dominated with PlayStation 4 sales beforehand. In fact, the Xbox One became the "best-selling console in the U.S. in November and December." Not bad, huh? Possibly what helped the Xbox One push ahead in sales was the $50 decrease during the holidays, though they extended the sale period due to the popularity. If Microsoft continues to keep the $350 price tag, would the Xbox One actually outpace the PlayStation 4? That is just one possibility, considering certain Driveclub-related debacles. And Forza Horizon 2 and Sunset Overdrive are really fun.
