Well it seems that Microsoft has decided to up their endeavors into the original TV content realm even before any show has even hit Xbox Live with announcements of a low-budget Halo TV series said to be produced by Ridley Scott himself. He'll be teaming up with 343 Entertainment to bring us an original look into the universe very similar to the much liked Halo Forward Unto Dawn movie that accompanied Halo 4. While the show will be produced by Scott, it is said that Scott Free TV president David Zucker along with Battlestar Galactica alum Sergio Mimica-Gezzan will be directing. We have no idea how this affects previous news on a Ridley Scott Halo movie or if that was just a rumor of this that was misconstrued? This series of course will accompany the previously announced larger budget Steven Spilberg produced Halo Series.

And if that wasn't enough, Microsoft has decided to add yet another TV series to the mix that will be available via Xbox Live subscription titled "Humans" that will span 8 one hour episodes and will be co-produced by UK production studio Kudos. It will premier on both the Xbox and UK Channel 4.

Here is the synopsis according to The Hollywood Reporter;

Humans is set in a parallel present where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a "synth" -- a highly-developed robotic servant. In the hope of transforming the way they live, one strained suburban family purchase a refurbished synth, only to discover that sharing life with a machine has far-reaching and chilling consequences."

While this doesn't revolve around a specific game it does sound pretty cool that Microsoft is loading up on original content to give people another choice besides regular cable.  So from this point one has to speculate how the upcoming Halo series will play into future games that come out? My guess is that since Halo Forward Unto Dawn was a direct tie in then you can probably bet money that these new shows will be as well. What say you?
