Microsoft finally lifted the curtain at E3 and unveiled the Xbox One X, previously known as Project Scorpio. The Xbox One X will be launching on November 7th for $499, and Microsoft seems to be pretty happy with that price tag considering they are calling it the most powerful console ever made.

In an interview with Business Insider, head of Xbox Phil Spencer claimed that even with the high retail price of the Xbox one X, they would not be profiting whatsoever from sales of the Xbox One X due to the cost of hardware and manufacturing. When asked for clarification, he stated that they wouldn't necessary be losing money from console sales, but that game sales are what make money in general and not hardware sales.

I dont want to get into all the numbers, but in aggregate you should think about the hardware part of the console business is not the money-making part of the business. The money-making part is in selling games.

Whether this statement is accurate or not, the Xbox One X is definitely a very expensive console compared to its competitors, and Microsoft is definitely relying on the power of their new console to win over potential customers. Will you be buying the Xbox One X?
