MGS V Fans Compensated with Free GP and EXP

You know, the very least they could expect.

So Konami screwed up again.

I mean, that barely constitutes news, you can just sort of assume that’s the general state of things. Sun rises, birds sing, and Konami spirals deeper into a pit of loathing and hatred mirrored across the entire gaming sphere. But in this case, there’s an added twist to the story that makes it worth examining, a strange circumstance that elevates this story from mundanity to extraordinary: not only is Konami apologizing for screwing up, it’s actually trying to compensate people for it!

I know, I’m stunned too!

So, as owners of Metal Gear Solid 5 will tell you--when they’re done telling you about this ‘amazing’ mission they had and their hilarious base names--there were some problems with the MGS5 servers not long after the game launched, which made playing the Forward Operating Base mode something of a hassle, or sometimes downright impossible

Well, Konami feels just awful you had to endure that, and has prepared both an apology and a lil’ something to keep you happy in the meantime. Not only will all players be gifted 3000 GP, and a promotional code for the duration of the already existing XP Boost has been extended from two weeks to three weeks.

“We hereby apologize sincerely for the connection, as well as matching stability issues recurring since the MGO service started, that may have caused inconveniences. We will continue to improve so that your experience is more pleasant. We appreciate your continued use of METAL GEAR ONLINE.”

So, congrats on the free GP, folks. Just don’t spend it all in one place. Or on insurance. That’s still bullcrap.
