Fans of the Metro game series were blessed at this year's E3 press event by Microsoft. The series is back into small tunnels and mutated monsters with Metro: Exodus.
At this point in time, the world has been left to pure ruins by those looking to defend themselves. We saw a more open world where players can fight the familiar mutations in new environments. Players can now customize their weapons on the fly, allowing for greater diversity with their combat style. More than mutants, players will be at the whim of treacherous sea creatures and unpredictable fanatics. We notice that much of what we saw was above ground, and interesting new take on the otherwise underground series.
Much like predecessors Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, Exodus is a graphical masterpiece, premiering wonderfully ruined-yet-beautiful landscapes and incredibly detailed environments. Though this is E3, where everything looks better than it normally ends up being.
If you're a fan of shooter games with horror, stealth, and story mixed in, then I recommend giving Metro a chance. If Exodus is as good as it looks, then I'm sure it'll be an amazing experience rivaling that of the game that came before.
Metro Exodus will be released on February 22, 2019.
